Oct 07, Use the BMW bushing removal tool to remove the subframe bushings. Use a 24mm wrench for the top nut and a 19mm wrench to counter-hold the bottom. As you tighten the top nut, the tool will pull the bushing up and out of the subframe.

Two weeks ago, I removed the rear suspension and subframe assembly from the car, and last week, I inspected the chassis for the infamous E46 subframe-to-chassis. Section 2: Stock Bushing Removal Step 2 Step 3 1: Remove the sway bar from the subframe then unbolt the three differential bolts and carefully lower the differential so as not to damage it or overextend the rear axles.
